One day, Poonam, an investigator, came to a village called Dugarih to check its facilities. The village was very traditional. The people lived near the forest in thatched huts. Their favorite drink was coconut water, and their vessels were made from coconut shells.
Poonam carefully investigated each hut and noticed that their language was different. So, she used all the languages she knew—Hindi, Tamil, Marathi, and Telugu—and combined them to finally understand their language.
She then visited one hut and began asking about the family. She asked for the mother’s and father’s names, the child’s name, birth date, and age. They answered: the mother’s name was Pooja, the father’s name was Rayathan, and the child’s name was Charan. From the birth date they gave, Poonam noticed that he was 7 years old.
Suddenly, she asked whether the child went to school. The parents replied yes. His hobby was studying. He went to school at 7 a.m. and returned at 2 p.m. He liked to spend time with his family and observe nature.
Charan was inspired by Poonam’s investigation skills. She told him that he could come with her that day to explore new things. Poonam was very happy to help guide the small boy toward the right path. Along the way, she explained many things to Charan. He was always curious about investigations and asked many questions—why birds build nests on trees, why the sun rises from the mountains, and many more “why” questions.
As Charan grew up, he missed Poonam, who had gone to another state for important work. Meanwhile, Charan read many books to increase his knowledge. He became a searcher, then a detective, and later an investigator.
At the age of 23, Charan became an investigator and helped Poonam in her work. He thanked her for her support. He did his job peacefully, and his parents were very happy to say that Charan became the first investigator from the village of Dugarih.
Story Along the Way, Morals that right guidance and encouragement can turn a curious child into a successful future leader.
